I have been married to my husband, Zach, for six years. Together, we have two boisterous little boys. My older son was born in a hospital, and my younger son was born into water at home. Thanks to a great friend who gently nudged me toward natural childbirth, I expanded my photography repertoire to include birth photography, and it was during my first photoshoot of a birth that I fell in love with the idea of helping women through their labors and decided to become a doula.
Since then, I have completed a birth doula workshop through Birth Arts International and am working to complete my certification.
I am currently the Vice President of Hagerstown Regional Childbirth Resources (Hagerstown Birth.) Hagerstown Birth is a local nonprofit group that offers free resources for childbirth and parenting education and support. To find out more, visit www.hagerstownbirth.org.
