I’m a doula(antepartum, labor, & postpartum), childbirth educator, breastfeeding educator & guru, nutrition peer guru, EMT, ex Director of Sales and Marketing, homeowner, athlete, mom to an amazing autistic & AHDH little man born in 2011. I breastfed for 2.5 years and gave birth at home in water with a CNM (that Tricare paid for!). I became a certified doula in 2012, but I keep up my continuing education(in all my fields) with multiple organizations.  I am a DONA trained Birth & Postpartum Doula that went through nursing school, studied as an EMT and studied midwifery for 2.5 years before having to quit due to becoming a single mom. So I became the director of sales and marketing and a social media consultant. I was on the path to become I’m a Certified Personal Trainer to go along with all my other certifications when the pandemic hit. Like so many others I lost my job because my company depended on exports from China. I realized my 9-5 was paying me to build THEIR dreams and make THEM money. So I started my own business again and launched Witch’s Brew Coffee Co.  I also consult for businesses, influencers and birth professionals. 

I live in Hampton Roads and my parents live in eastern NC line, so I attend births in both areas. I believe that women should have strong/loving support during and after birth. I was inspired to become a doula during my first pregnancy. I birthed my son at home in water with my certified nurse midwife, now ex husband and my mother. I fully regret not having a Doula. We just could not afford one, I wasn’t working, my husband was in the military just out of bootcamp in IL. We were already broke so it got put on the “wants” instead of “needs” list. I had a hard labor with back pain (as he was sunny side up), but it was a quick delivery (one push)! If I had been able to afford a doula she could have helped tremendously with the back pain and issues. My husband was wonderful and supportive( the best a husband could be), but I knew that my birth lacked something. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to support other women during this important time in their lives. I want to make sure any women who needs help, has help!

My Philosophy 

I believe that birth is a normal, natural life event that can be trusted, a process our bodies have been doing since humans were created.  I am truly grateful for the medical technology that can save the lives of mothers and babies in the event of complications. However, so many emergencies could be prevented if uncomplicated birth was viewed as part of nature instead of a medical event. I believe every woman has the right to choose HER IDEAL empowering/beautiful birth experience, in whatever location and with whomever she choses. I believe that when a woman is healthy, prepared and supported, she can do anything!
